Hand Signals (flags)

Stationary yellow - steady whistle and one arm straight out to side
Waving yellow - pulsing whistle and one arm straight out to side waving up and down
Debris - arms forming an "( )" to the side of the body
Oil - same as debris followed by hand, palm down moving in a polishing motion
Ambulance - point to your thigh (white)
Red - both arms out to side waving up and down

 

Hand signals (Safety to station or station to safety)

Need ambulance - form an "A" over the head using both hands
Severe injury - ambulance signal followed by both arms crossed and pounding chest
Need help - pat top of head with one hand
Want to cross track or move - one arm straight in air
Stay where you are or I'm staying put - two arms straight up in air
Last bike or gap in traffic - point to rider and follow around corner
Stay where you are, will advise - hand with palm facing safety (police style stop signal)
Debris and oil - same as hand flag signals
Need crash truck/tow - stand sideways to station and motion like you are pulling a rope horizontally
Fire - arms out to side forming a "F"
